Fluency Measurement

Fluency Measurement by Express SLP is a tool for a speech-language pathologist (SLP) to quickly collect and analyze a speech sample for stuttering and other speech disfluencies. Types of disfluencies include: sound/syllable repetitions, word repetitions, prolongations, blocks, broken words, phrase revisions, and interjections.

This app allows the speech-language pathologist to record a speech sample and transcribe the sample either within the app or paste the transcription from another word processing program. Once the transcribed sample is submitted, the SLP can listen to the recording, highlight the words where disfluencies occurred, and select the type of disfluency. A bar graph displays a visual representation of the total percentage of disfluencies that occurred in the speaking sample and also breaks down the disfluencies by type (total number of syllable repetitions, word repetitions, prolongations, blocks, etc.) In the session details, each word spoken is listed along with the type of disfluency that was produced when it was spoken within the sample. This allows the speech-language pathologist to analyze the sample for most frequent disfluencies, patterns of disfluencies, and clustering. The SLP can also record the duration of disfluencies, physical concomitant behaviors observed, as well as other clinical observations.

Fluency Measurement will track student data over time. Reports can be emailed or printed for documentation, and student data can be imported or exported between clinicians.

When creating an instructor, only a password is required. The remaining fields are utilized on the reports and if you need to reset your password. The application will ask you a question that is based on the information provided from the other fields.
